Thank you very much!

(Published in Catalonia Today magazine - July-August 2012)

In December 2008 I accepted the challenge of reinventing Catalonia Today and converting it from a weekly newspaper to a monthly magazine. It was a brave bet, to invest more money and more resources in order to offer our readers a 64 page, glossy, full colour magazine, written in English, full of quality content, to foreign residents and visitors and to Catalan readers who seek to improve their English language level, always keeping in mind the same motto that led to the creation of Catalonia Today in 2005: "News in English from a Catalan point of view".
The response has been amazing from the very beginning. A growing community of readers and subscribers who have encouraged us to deliver more and improve on what we are doing. The best example of how this community works is the initiative from a bunch of our readers, to create the ECClub, the English Culture Club: a joint-venture between the Abacus cooperative and Catalonia Today. Currently the ECClub has more than 1000 members and 45 reading groups spread across Catalonia and Valencia.
Three years and a half later, new professional challenges ask me to move on, so this is my last issue as editor of Catalonia Today. I’m extremely proud of how the magazine has developed, and the team behind it and I strongly believe that the new editor will do even better, adding more value to this community of staff, readers, subscribers and members of the ECClub who truly enjoy quality content in English month after month. Thank you very much for the constant feedback that has allowed us to continously improve the magazine, based on your criticism and suggestions. I hope that will continue. I’ll be in touch.
